Flying Cloud: Change We Can Believe In

Good afternoon folks!!

As of TODAY, FEBRUARY 11, that little tiny airport in Eden Prairie, MN has screwed up everything we thought we knew about the ZMP airspace.

The FCM VOR has been moved 3000' to the east so that it now lines up with runway 10R. Also, its frequency has changed to 117.7.

Coordinates change from N044.49.33.000 W093.27.24.000 to N044.49.31.000 W093.26.34.000 . All outbound bearings are raised by 6 degrees.

But more importantly is the fact that it moved. Why is this important, you may ask?

Because every departure and nearly all the arrival procedures into MSP use a radial off of the FCM VOR. So...all of the procedures have changed again.

Here are the changes. You can view the new procedures over at AirNav or wherever Approach plates are sold, but really all you need to know is that the names have changed.

Arrivals:
KASPR3 -> KASPR4
TWOLF1 -> TWOLF2 (although they probably should have changed KGEEE intersection to JFRSN...)
WILDD1 -> WILDD2

Departures:
COULT2 -> COULT3
DWN2 -> DWN3
KBREW2 -> KBREW3
LEINY2 -> LEINY3 (Only in MSP does an RNAV departure change because of a moved VOR)
MSP3 -> MSP4
ORSKY3 -> ORSKY4
RST3 -> RST4
SCHEP2 -> SCHEP3
SMERF2 -> SMERF3
UKN2 -> UKN3
WLSTN2 -> WLSTN3
ZMBRO2 -> ZMBRO3

Also, just for the heck of it, they also changed the primary tower frequency to 119.15. Yep.

For Pilots!
ALL OF THIS and much, much more are available in our new AFCAD Cycle. Hundreds (HUNDREDS.) of airport diagrams have been updated in your FS9 scenery to today. Head on over to the Pilots -> Scenery section for more!
